Maximize WhatsApp on your device with exciting features! Discover auto-deleting message, text formatting, starred messages & more

Are you looking for strategies to maximize WhatsApp on your iPhone or Android device? We are on your side. For instance, a new feature that automatically deletes your messages after a week is being rolled out. Sure, it has Snapchat-like features, but who says those belong only to Snapchat? Even better, you can format the text you send in a message to inject some style into a monotonous exchange.
Another option is to use WhatsApp on your PC, which is also feasible. Also, it's simple to set up and use. You will discover advice on various WhatsApp features and hints below.

Below are 12 WhatsApp features you need to be aware of:

  1. Format the text to make your communications livelier: You may instantly add strikethrough, bold, and italics to text using WhatsApp by inserting a few special characters before and after the text you wish to format to achieve this.
Use an asterisk (*bold*) to make text bold, an underscore (_italics_) to make text italic, and a tilde (strikethrough) to make text strikethrough in WhatsApp.
  2. Make your messages disappear: WhatsApp is presently rolling out a brand-new feature that lets you enable disappearing messages for particular conversations. When turned on, your whole chat history will vanish after seven days. By tapping on the contact or chat's name at the top of your screen, you can enable Disappearing Messages. From the list of choices, choose Disappearing Messages, and then press On. Always remember that any pictures or images you transmit or receive can also be automatically saved to your phone or the recipient's phone, so even though the message containing the photo will vanish, there are chances that the image itself might still be saved.
  3. To make a message easier to find later, star it: -By giving a message a star, you may quickly return to a valuable message, contact information, address, or article link that a friend provided. The message will have a tiny star icon next to it so you can quickly recognize it when browsing your discussion. To access the Star icon, long-press the news and then tap it.
You may view your starred messages on an iPhone by selecting Starred Messages under the Settings menu. Android users must tap the Menu button, followed by Starred Messages.
  4. Organize your Storage and determine who you speak to the most: Are you curious about who your WhatsApp BFF is? It's simple to learn.
Navigate to Settings > Storage and Data > Manage Storage on your iPhone or Android device. Your phone will automatically generate a list of contacts in the order of who consumes the most Storage. Tap on each contact for more specific statistics, including the number of messages, photos, and GIFs shared.
You can also see who you talk with the most in WhatsApp's updated storage feature, making it simpler to delete large files eating up space on your phone.
  5. View message details: Have you ever wondered when a message was read or delivered? To access such statistics on your iPhone, swipe to the left of your message. Users of Android devices can long-press a message and then tap Info from the menu.
  6. Mute a conversation: Use WhatsApp's mute feature to stop chatty group conversations or a friend who doesn't get the signal that you're busy before entering a movie or meeting.
Android users can tap the crossed-out speaker symbol at the top of the screen by long-pressing on a chat and then doing so. Users of iPhones can slide to the left to move through a conversation, then hit the three dots, and then select Mute. You can choose to mute for 8 hours, one week or always.
  7. You can Hide your last seen status: Knowing that others can see when you were last online can sometimes put too much pressure on you, making you feel you must respond to pending messages.
You don't want your "Last Seen" time to be disclosed to friends or other contacts. Log in and go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen.
Then select Nobody, My Contacts, or Everyone.
  8. Turn off read receipts: WhatsApp read tickets can be turned off. By doing this, other users won't be able to see that you've read a message.
Uncheck the box or slide the switch next to Read Receipts to the Off position by going to Settings > Account > Privacy.
It should be noted that turning off this function will prevent you from knowing when a buddy has viewed your message. However, read receipts will still be used in group chats.
  9. Photos and videos should not be saved by default: Disable autosaves if you don't want WhatsApp to save every picture and video you get to your camera roll, using up space and clogging up your photographs.
Open Settings > Chats on an iPhone and turn off Save to Camera Roll. Turn off Media Visibility in Chats under Settings on Android.
  10. Use WhatsApp on a computer or a laptop: When coordinating multiple discussions or having a lengthy conversation with an old buddy, sitting down at your computer and using a complete keyboard and mouse is a much better experience. And you can easily accomplish so with WhatsApp's web client, PC client, or Mac client.
  11. Get personalized notifications: You can establish unique notifications for specific contacts so they don't all receive the same alert sound upon receiving a message. Doing this will simplify determining who messaged you without checking your phone. When browsing a chat thread on Android, users should select the Menu icon, choose View Contact > Custom Notifications, check the box, and then complete the configuration. When browsing a chat thread in WhatsApp on an iPhone, press the contact's name, then select Custom Tone.
  12. Export a conversation: - If you want to save a chat, export it. Android users viewing a discussion must tap the Menu button, followed by More > Export Chat.Viewing a conversation thread on an iPhone requires pressing the contact's name at the top of the screen, then scrolling to the Contact Info page's bottom and choosing Export conversation.
You can export with or without media attached on both devices. Even though WhatsApp is a well-known messaging software, there are a few more options you can try. Apple's iMessage service provides many of the same capabilities as WhatsApp and is always available to iPhone users. Over time, the Messages app for Android has also seen some significant updates.
